UNESCO ASP-net school
Gymnasium 2 has been the UNESCO ASP-net school since 1985 . ASU project was founded in 1953. The main goal of the project is to provide the qualitative school education aimed at the realization of the projects in human rights, democracy, cross-cultural understanding and environmental protection in UN system. There are about 7,000 ASP-net schools in 172 UN members countries throughout the world.
UNESCO associated schools in Ukraine are the secondary educational establishments the activities of which are aimed at increasing human, ethic and international aspects of education. The preferable goals of the ASP-net schools in Ukraine are the youth education in proclaiming peace, democracy, human rights, tolerance and cross-cultural understanding by cooperating, diversing, solving the global problems through the parttnership in the UN.
The work of ASP-net schools in Ukraine is realized on the four main themes of investigation:
learning the global problems and the UN role in their coordination;
the human rights;
other countries and cultures;
mankind and environment.
The main forms of activities of the ASP-net schools in Ukraine are:
the participation in international educational projects;
the development of the youth childish diplomacy;
the celebration of UN international days;
the organization of the workshps, conferences, festivals, summer camps;
the creation of the experimental grounds for the educational projects on the topics of UNESCO ASP-net schools themes.
